Bottom boxing



Bottom boxing timber structure seperates straw bales from the slab.
Note the installation of Kordon termite barrier for
maximum infestation protection guaranteed for 10 years.
The bottom boxing protects the straw bales from water penetration that may result from a washin machine overflow or alike.







Ring beam



The horizontal beams support the entirety of the roof and upper floor load.
The timber sizes are established by a certified engineer specialising in straw bale construction.







Straw bale buck at 7 bales high



The house uses the latest developments in strawbale construction
and wall support systems to ensure that walls are
secured and crack-free for many years to come.

Straw tensioning



Straw bale tensioning system applies one ton of horizontal pressure
to secure the second storey bales to the timber frame.
